internet musings have served so much as venues 
for emotional hands reaching for emotional connection, 
for misleading or misinterpreted expressions, 
of which i have played the role of both hunter and prey. 

i have grown so accustomed to learning things the hard and humbling way.

now the insatiable appetite for the manifest is not only rampant, 
but is proving itself to in fact be satiable after all. 
to be known, and not some sort of idealized and uninvested investment. 
to be known and to know.
tangible hands, tangible earth—tangible hands in the soil of the earth, 
uprooting and digging and pruning and planting
and running over with softening fingers and streams of water.
and He’ll rest your roots in a safer bed
no sooner than the old was stripped away.
